Coordination of SRI test phase
The SRI test phase in Poland is led by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology with the support of the technical support of the University of Science and Technology in the framework of the national R&D project “The Energy Transition Observatory as the instrument for supporting the socio-economic development of Poland”. The aim of the project is to create the Energy Transition Observatory (OTE) as an advanced instrument supporting optimal decision-making in the conditions of rapidly progressing changes in the global and Polish energy sector.
The SRI testing phase is being carried out in the part of the project devoted to technical aspects of energy transition. These aspects include, on the one hand, issues related to smart power grids, and on the other hand, the area of the largest energy consumer – building resources.
Other LIFE projects are also carrying out activities in the country: tunES.
Timeline of SRI test phase
The test phase is aligned with the timeline of the national R&D project “The Energy Transition Observatory as the instrument for supporting the socio-economic development of Poland”. The project is financed by the Gospostrateg programme of the National Centre for Research and Development.
The test phase started in April 2024 and it is expected to last until November 2025.
Activities carried out during the SRI test phase
35 SRI assessments of various building categories (e.g., single-family houses, apartment blocks, offices, educational buildings). To that end, the assessment package from the European Commission was translated into Polish. Training material and forms to facilitate the collection on input data for the assessment were developed, and othe auxiliary information. The objective is to provide online training for a group of 50 auditors. Preliminary results of the test phase can be found here (only in Polish). For information about two case studies, refer to here (only in Polish).
