Coordination of SRI test phase
The SRI test phase in Slovenia is led by the Ministry for Environment, Climate and Energy with the support of Jožef Stefan Institute (Energy Efficiency Centre) and Goriška Local Energy Agency, in cooperation with the Horizon 2020 project TIMEPAC.
The following LIFE projects are carrying out activities in the country: tunES.
Timeline of SRI test phase
The test phase recently started in 2023, and is expected to provide its report to the European Commission by 2026.
Activities carried out during the SRI test phase
In Slovenia, 25 buildings (20 non-residential and 5 residential) have been assessed so far, with the total expected to reach around 50 by the end of 2025.
Within the H2020 TIMEPAC project, a Code of Conduct for Smart Readiness and Sustainability Rating was developed, along with a case study demonstrating the application of SRI and sustainability assessments on a Slovenian building.
Several stakeholder meetings were held to share findings and lessons learned from the preliminary assessments, organised under the TIMEPAC and LIFE tunES projects. The Jožef Stefan Institute and the Ministry of Environment, Climate, and Energy participated in TIMEPAC.
As part of LIFE tunES, an SRI problem tree for Slovenia was developed, and results were disseminated through a paper at the SpliTech Conference. Furthermore, the first in-class training for future SRI assessors was organised in May 2024 under TIMEPAC.
