Coordination of SRI test phase

The SRI test phase in Spain is led by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge with the support of CENER – National Renewable Energy Centre within the context of the LIFE project SRI2MARKET. Other LIFE projects are also carrying out activities in the country: easySRI, SRI-ENACT, iEPB.

Timeline of SRI test phase

The test phase started in October of 2023. It is expected to submit the report to the European Commission by Q4 2025.

Activities carried out during the SRI test phase

During the test phase in Spain, EPC assessors were trained as SRI experts through the SRI2MARKET e-learning programme, engaging nearly 915 participants. A total of 220 SRI assessments were conducted with the project’s online tool, 97 of which took place within the non-committal test phase. Many stakeholders were actively involved through synchronised engagement activities, supported by SRI2MARKET partners who facilitated information exchange on the evolving EU SRI framework (e.g. EPBD recast) and promoted awareness-raising events targeting both broad audiences and strategic stakeholders in the Spanish smart buildings value chain.
